QCFF 2018 Screeners Wanted

Want to be a screener for this year’s film festival? Here’s how:

We are currently seeking screeners for this year’s film festival. The SIXTH ANNUAL Queen City Film Festival (QCFF) will be held October 4-7, 2018, at The Venue at Mezzos in Cumberland, Maryland. We want to recruit as many new screeners as possible to help us review submissions.

An excellent volunteer opportunity for qualified individuals. Ideal candidates will be residents of Allegany County, Maryland, have high-speed internet access, and possess extensive knowledge of cinema within one or more categories. You should be prepared to sort through many, many submissions to find the few hidden gems we will select and screen.

For QCFF 2018, our categories include: Animation, Appalachian, Cult, Documentary, Horror/SciFi, Kids/Family, LGBT, and Music. We are also looking for category leads in Animation, LGBT, and Kids/Family – subject matter experts who would be interested in not just reviewing submissions but curating the category.

  1. Hello:

Delighted to be a documentary screener for the Festival. I am an award-winning Baltimore documentary filmmaker. My film Tainted Blood: The Untold Story of the 1984 Olympic Blood Doping Scandal (www.taintedbloodfilm.com) is now on the festival circuit. It had its international premier in Barcelona last year and will screen April 9 at Baltimore’s Parkway Theatre.

I co-direct the Baltimore chapter of the Film Fatales and am a member of WIFV in D.C. I’m also a colleague of Charles Cohen whose film was screened at your festival.
